What can I do with my signature font?
The number of
uses for signature fonts are only restricted by a persons
imagination. Signature fonts can be used in almost any program
that allows you to select fonts. The most common uses are: To
fax signed documents, print out signed documents, print out
large mail merges of signed documents, distribute pre-signed
forms, and insert and size letterheads into documents (using a
logo instead of a signature).

What can I have converted to
a font?
The most common
thing people convert is their signature. But just about
anything can be converted. Many companies convert logos or
letterheads, some people convert salutations, and initials are
very popular.

What type of pen should I use to sign
my name?
Use the type of
pen that you would normally use to sign your name. For color,
black ink on white paper works best. Make sure area around
signature is free from all stray marks (even faint marks will
show). If you like thicker looking lines, use a felt tip pen or
marker, otherwise a ball point pen works just fine.

Can I fax the order?
Yes orders can be
faxed to 928-223-0861. Many of our large customers choose to
fax in signatures for the convenience. Faxed signatures can
give less than ideal results however, but we do guarantee our
work, so if your faxed signature is not acceptable we will redo
it from a mailed in copy at no additional cost. For best
results when faxing:
-
Fax the order
using the highest possible resolution on your fax machine
(fine or super fine resolution)
-
Sign normally
and blow up the signature by 400% on a copy machine or sign as
large as possible using a felt tip pen or marker.

How do I send an order by e-mail?
To send an order
by e-mail you must include a scanned image of your signature
with the e-mail order. Scan your signature in black & white (not
color or grayscale) at about 300 dpi. Send the scanned image as
a black and white (not color) tiff (.tif) or bitmap (.bmp) file.
Remember that your signature font will be only as good as the
scanned image you provide.

How do you insure the security/safety
of customer's signatures?
Security is something we are very concerned
with. All Signature Fonts that we create, reside on a server
with file encryption which only the system administrator has
access to. This server is not accessible from the internet.
Shortly after a signature font is sent, it is automatically
deleted from the server. This means that you should make backup
copies of your signature font because if you lose it we will not
be able to resend it to you.

How will I insert my
signature into documents?
Your signature
will be saved as a TrueType font. You will insert it into the
document by selecting the signature font (just as you do all
other fonts such as Times New Roman or Arial) and the pressing
the letter S (uppercase S for Signature).

How will my signature be returned to me?
Your signature
font file will be returned by email as a mime encoded
attachment. Almost all email programs used today support
attachments. With some programs and services (AOL), there is an
option for attachments which must be set in order to receive
attachments. Check with your e-mail program's documentation for
more information. See
delivery options for more details.

What programs/computers/operating
systems will be able to use my signature?
Any program which
supports TrueType fonts should be able to use your signature,
regardless of computer type or operating system. Almost all
programs for Windows 3.1, 95, 98, NT 3.51, NT 4.0, 2000 as well
as for the Apple Macintosh support TrueType Fonts (note that Mac
users require a conversion utility -
TTConverter). Many other programs written for other systems
support TrueType fonts as. Check your program documentation for
more information.

What size will my signature be?
Your signature
will be scaleable just like any windows TrueType font. When
you select your signature font in your application, just set the
size you desire point size you desire (72 would make you
signature approximately one inch high). And since your
signature will be a TrueType font, there will be no loss of
signature quality as the signature is scaled up or down.

How much disk space will the font take up?
Signature fonts
are very small - most are under 5KB (5,000 bytes or 5 kilo
bytes). And like all other fonts, they only are copied to one
place on your disk drive, and then can be used from any
program.

Do we make fonts of an entire persons
handwriting?
We do not make
fonts of an entire persons handwriting. Our Company is setup
to convert one sample of a persons handwriting per font. The
conversion process is performed utilizing a highly automated,
proprietary process which we developed and this is what allows
us to offer such an unbelievably low price.
There are
numerous font houses on the net who do make entire fonts of a
persons handwriting. This is highly skilled, and labor
intensive work. To have it done right expect to pay over $100.

Can I use my signature font in e-mails?
In general
signature fonts cannot be used via e-mail. When you email a
person utilizing a font which that person does not have on their
computer, their computer substitutes a different font. So for
instance if you e-mailed a person using an Arial font, and that
person did not have an Arial font installed on their computer,
their mail reader would substitute a font in place of the Arial.
Thus if you used your Signature font, and typed capital S -
which would display your signature - your program would show
your signature, but since the person you are sending the e-mail
to does not have your font on their computer, their e-mail
program would substitute a different font, and print the
character it had stored for capital S (which is just S). This is
actually desirable since you would not want other people to be
able to use and reproduce your signature at will.
To overcome this
problem, fonts can be configured to be embeddable. We configure
all signature fonts as "embeddable read only". This allows the
font to be sent along with the document, and the receiver can
look at it but not use or reproduce it. Currently most e-mail
clients do not allow the embedding of fonts. Hopefully they will
add this in the future. You can use your word processing
programs (such as MS Word), instead. To embed a font using Word
just choose embed font from the options menu and your font will
be included with the document.

information on imbedding fonts visit the following link:
